Report on 2016 Event

We had a most successful weekend  with an average attendance of over 200 dancers per céilí.

We raised €4,208 for Peru Children's Charity . You can see from the message below fom Michal Murphy, Director of Peru Children's Charity how 100% of your money goes direct to Las Lomas and how it is used,

My thanks to all of you who travelled to support this worhy cause from all over Donegal, the Northern part of Ireland from Galway (over 60 travelled from Galway) to Dublin, and from Derry to Belfast and all places in between and South of there. There were also a number of overseas visitors.

Special thanks to Gearóid Mulrooney who organised things at the Galway end and who gave the set dance workshop - The Laois Lancers; to Jerry McNulty & Mary Rose Gallagher who taught 6 two-hand dances at their workshop. 56 attended the set dance workshop and 38 attended the two-hand workshop. A very big thank you also to the Swallow's Tail Céilí Band; The Duntally Céilí Band and The Copperplate Céilí Band. We are indebted to Clement Gallagher who was 'Fear a' Tí' par excellence and added much to the occasion. Thanks also to Alex and Sinéad Black who delighted everyone who stayed for the social dancing after the céilí on Saturday.

Thanks to Michael, Annette, Eugene, Tara, Tori, Conor, Michael and all the management and staff of the Clanree Hotel

There are more than 180 photographs from the weekend published in the  gallery pages - please see table of contents above left. These were expertly taken by Rose McGinty of Rosey Pics who gave her talents free of charge as her contribution to Peru Children's Charity. Rose can be contacted @ 0860808279; Facebook @roseypics and e-mai; <rosemcginty@gmail.com.

Finally thanks to Brian Devine for making the backdrop stand at nominal cost.

I pray God's Blessing on all of you.

I look forward to seeing you all again next September

Hello Padraig & Gearóid,

I was very happy to be there on Friday to support your wonderful efforts.

This is fantastic news,  €4,208 - what a wonderful  donation! The benefits in Peru will be 5 to 6 times that amount. Thanks a million for all your hard work.

We will now proceed to tile the floors and install the Water Therapy Baths (like a jacuzzi) which were donated by a company in Lima last year, but we didn't install them as other things took priority.

Please pass on my sincere appreciation to all who helped in any way and to all who supported the event

Kindest regards

and a BIG THANK YOU from all the Children in Los Lomas
