I greatly regret that owing to a misunderstanding it is necessary to change the dates for the 2018 Letterkenny Set Dancing Festival.

I had planned the festival (as in previous years) for the weekend beginning on the third Friday of September. I understood that the Ardara Weekend was held on the fourth weekend of September. However, the Ardara Weekend is held on the weekend ending on the last Monday of September (to coincide with the Scottish Bank Holiday). Unfortunately, these two weekends clash in 2018.

As the Ardara weekend is the longer established and as it would be untenable to allow a clash, I have had no option but to change.  Accordingly, the 2018 Letterkenny St Dancing Festival will now take place on the weekend beginning on the fourth Friday of November - Friday November 23rd to Sunday November 25th. These are the only dates available to me.

Furthermore, as the September weekend was not available to me in the Clanree Hotel going forward from 2019, I plan to continue with the fourth weekend in November in future years.

I apologise most sincerely to anyone adversely affected by this change of date. I especially apologise to those who have already booked the 2018 weekend with the Clanree Hotel. Due to data protection regulations, the hotel is unable to give me the names of those affected. The hotel will contact those persons directly. They will be given the option of (1) transferring the reservation to the new dates; or (2) cancelling and receiving a full refund of any payments made in connection with the reservation; or (3) having their reservation honoured although there will be no dancing included.
